However, over the last few days, this image, purporting to be of a new PS4 Slim has been cropping up on gaming forums across the internet.

But is it real? Well, Sony have refused to comment, but rumours are that the new edition of the console will be released next week. In fact, Eurogamer claimed to have reviewed the console, but the video was swiftly pulled.

Meanwhile, there are folk selling what they claim to be PS4 Slims on Gumtree, a UK based classified ads site.

So what’s going on? Well, word is that the console is set to be released on September 8th, and Sony sent out stock to stores in advance of the launch. A few of these were then sold on, and news of the release soon hit the internet.

We can’t verify this, so we will wait to see what happens next week.
