Chandler, Arizona. 35 year-old Joshua Adkins was stopped by police who wanted to talk to him about a possible aggravated assault domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment charge coming his way. But Adkins wasn’t in the mood for a chat, so took off. A chase ensued, adding unlawful flight from law enforcement onto the list of crimes he was to be later booked for. But the police chase took a strange turn when the suspect decided to stop at a DRIVE-THRU.
That’s right. Instead of putting the pedal to the metal and roaring off away from cops like some kind of one man Thelma & Louise, Adkins decided that he’d best eat. He was hungry and fancied an In-N-Out Burger. Stopping off at the Chandler branch in the East Valley, he placed his order but then thought better of it, realizing that fleeing law enforcement doesn’t really allow for snack windows.
Eventually, best by hunger and the realization that he was making a lousy getaway driver, Adkins ditched his ride and attempted to make good his escape on foot. He was later arrested. And didn’t even get his burger. How disappointing, huh?
Hey, when you gotta eat, you gotta eat, right…?! This is crazy. Find out more about this odd, odd story right here:
