Did Nostradamus predict the ascent of Donald Trump to President elect of the United States of America? Yes, according to some! The 16th century occultist, whose real name is Michel de Nostredame, made a series of predictions in his 1555 book Les Prophecies (The Prophecies). Trump among them.
Scholars have been pouring over the manuscripts, picking out parts that supposedly foresaw The Donald becoming the most powerful man in the world, and suggesting that he is the Anti-Christ, who will trigger World War Three!
Nostradamus has some supposed success in predicting huge, global events in world history. He is alleged to have predicted The Great Fire of London in 1666, the French Revolution in 1789, the rise of Adolf Hitler, and even the 9/11 Terror Attacks.
And now, after Trump’s election victory, scholars have found a passage in Les Prophecies which they argue predicts his meteoric rise, and suggests that things are not going to end well!
“The false trumpet concealing madness
will cause Byzantium to change its laws.
From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants
the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.
The trumpet shakes with great discord.
An agreement broken: lifting the face to heaven:
the bloody mouth will swim with blood;
the face anointed with milk and honey lies on the ground.”
The “false trumpet” according to some, represents Donald Trump, a man who is concealing his own madness. Byzantium is the former name of Istanbul, which is the capital of Turkey, a country Trump criticized heavily a few weeks back.
Arthur Evans, who claims to be an expert in Nostradamus, said this about the predictions: “Someone has betrayed him, so now, he is enraged. In the name of religion, he talks blood and ends up swimming in it.”
“What is the land of ‘milk and honey’?” Evans asks. “It is, obviously, Israel — he’s described his intentions of being a ‘neutral broker’ between Israel and Palestine. The last line indicates to what he said about his big show of friendship and dirt he received in return for his efforts.”
