Back in 2009, at UFC 100, Dan Henderson knocked out Michael Bisping in spectacular style. The KO was so devastating that the clip of it went viral, gifting Henderson fame and leaving a sour taste in his British opponent’s mouth. Saturday night saw him given a chance to exact revenge in Bisping Henderson II. And he duly obliged, beating the man than once knocked him out on points. But he had to survive two knockdowns to win.
“I don’t stress myself out over it,” he said before the fight. “I don’t sit up at night thinking about Dan Henderson, thinking about revenge. But I do want to set the record straight.” And set the record straight he did. But there are plenty of fight fans that believe that the decision was wrong and that Henderson should have been announced as the winner.
Bisping retained his middleweight title and afterwards Henderson confirmed he was retiring from the sport. He’s a legend and sure to go in the UFC Hall of Fame.
