A woman in Oklahoma has been shot dead in a Walmart car park, after a man mistook her for a so-called “creepy clown.” Gabby Roslin, 28, was loading shopping into her car, when the man – who mistakenly believed she was breaking into the vehicle – opened fire, hitting her twice. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident comes after weeks of supposed sightings of people dressed in clown outfits committing felonies. It is thought that the man, named locally as Graham Cole, had shot Ferguson as a result of widespread panic about the sightings.
44 year old Cole was arrested at the scene, and has been charged with first degree murder. Oklahoma City Police Department are appealing for witnesses to the shooting, which took place at around 8pm CDT on 6th October 2016. Officer Martin Carruthers told reporters, “A 44 year old male has been arrested following the incident. However, we have reason to believe that there were further witnesses at the scene. We would urge those individuals to come forward in order to help us with our enquiries.
So-called “Creepy Clowns” have been spotted across the USA and beyond. Most have been found to be pranks, however, some criminals are making the most of the widespread panic, and purchasing clown outfits to wear whilst they commit their crimes.
Investigations are ongoing.
