Byron Bay, Australia. They call it ‘The Pass’. An area off the coast that’s hugely popular with surfers. Lovers of the board head down to The Pass whenever they get a chance because it’s know to be a great place to catch a few waves. But it IS Australia. So, you know, you can expect some dangerous animals to pitch up too. In this case, sharks.

But rare do you ever get a stalking shark this close to the shore. We do here. Slap bang in the middle of an area teaming with surfers. The giant sea beast twists and turns in the water while a surfer breezes right over him. It’s pretty damn heart stopping.

The man and his board float just inches above the killer shark and it’s all caught on video by one beachgoer. thankfully there is no attack.

A local authority representative said this afterwards: “Byron has lately had a huge spike in shark attacks and we will be setting up shark nets in the near future.”
