Reyes, Northern Bolivia. A man suspected of having raped and killed a four year-old girl was kidnapped from police custody this week. Dragged through the streets, the man was eventually LYNCHED in a public square.
Ivan Zambrana, The Department Director of the Special Force for Crime Fighting in the country, told local media the following: “The dead bodies, both the girl’s and the lynching victim’s, have been moved to Palos Blancos (near the Bolivian capital La Paz), we are investigating the case.”
No one has yet been apprehended for the kidnap of murder or the suspected child killer and plenty of people in the area are hoping it stays that way. This is mob justice, not criminal justice. It cannot be applauded. But Bolivian justice is not known for being particularly effective and corruption and bribery is rife.
Some people have theorised since the incident that the suspect was from a rich family and that he may very well have bribed his way out of trouble and been let off with a slap on the wrist…
