Deserts are not forgiving places. Scorching hot in the day, freezing at night – they’re evil sandboxes full of messed-up things. One of the scariest you’d need to watch out for? The Camel Spider. The things are actually scorpions, but look like spiders. They’re basically a mixture of the two. Nice, huh?
They hide in shadows to keep cool and hide. So you’re unlikely to see one coming. But when one strikes? You’re likely to feel that, for real! These big ol’ things are quick and strike with pace and are likely to strike fear into anyone. But luckily for us, they don’t really pose too much of a threat to humans.
But birds…? Oh, you’d best believe they pose a threat to them. And the clip below is proof. The camel spider caught on camera takes down a live bird and eats it. It’s as impressive as it is disgusting…
I don’t think I’ll ever sleep again. Especially not in a desert. This is one savage beast. Check it out!
